SFCC Foundation to Host ‘Live and In-Person Gala’ March 26
A fun, casual evening of fine dining, live entertainment, dancing, and a live auction have been planned for the State Fair Community College Foundation’s Live and In-Person Gala March 26 in the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center on the Sedalia campus.
The event is open to the public and begins at 6 p.m. It will feature cocktails and appetizers; dinner at 6:30 p.m. and a dessert dash; a live auction, the Big Time Grain Company band, comedian Chad Thornsberry, and dancing. State Fair Career and Technical Center Executive Director Eric Rehmer will be the master of ceremonies. Garber Auctioneer will conduct the live auction.
“It has been two years since we have been able to host our gala, and we are so excited,” said Mary Treuner, SFCC Foundation executive director. “When we were thinking about a theme, someone suggested we call it ‘live and in person’ and make it a celebration about coming together as a community … and the name seemed a good fit.
“This year, the gala will not only celebrate the joy of community but also will be a benefit for our Stronger Workforce, Greater Community capital campaign for the Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center and Fielding Center for Excellence,” said Treuner. “We hope people who have attended in the past and those who have never attended our gala will come for an enjoyable, fun and memorable evening.”
SFCC broke ground on the new center in December 2020 on the site of SFCC’s original buildings on Clarendon Road. The Precision Machining and Welding programs will begin to move into the center this spring. The center and renovations to Fielding Technical Center will increase the college’s capacity to deliver workforce training by 200 percent and increase enrollment by at least 120 percent in career and technical areas. Information about the project is available at www.sfccmo.edu/OHWIC.
Live and In-Person Gala tickets are $100 per person. Individuals, groups or businesses also may reserve tables of 10 for $1,000.
Casual attire is suggested. Parking is available in front of the Davis Multipurpose Center.
