SFCC Lady Roadrunners Basketball Signs Tate
State Fair Community College Lady Roadrunners Head Basketball Coach Kevin Bucher has announced the addition of Dalen Tate.
She is a 5’9’’ guard/forward who played basketball at Central Gwinnett High School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, for Head Coach ShaLisha Davis. Tate is the second recruit to sign a National Letter of Intent to attend SFCC in the fall.
Tate averaged 11 points, four assists and four steals per game as a senior. On defense, she led the team in charges taken for two years. Tate played a role in the team earning state playoff appearances her junior and senior seasons.
In 2018, Tate was named to the Class 7A Region 7 first-team and to the Class 7A All-Star Team. She also was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and was a team captain. Tate volunteered as a mentor to elementary school students during her senior year.
“Dalen is a versatile, athletic player who can play multiple positions,” said Bucher. “She was a four-year starter in high school and played in the best basketball league in Georgia. Dalen has played multiple sports and is a good fit for our pressing and trapping style of basketball.”
