Aspiring softball players who are entering first through eighth grades this fall will have the opportunity to learn softball fundamentals at the first State Fair Community College softball camp July 17-19 at Vansell Field in Liberty Park. The camp will be from 8-10:30 a.m. each day. The cost is $75 and includes a camp T-shirt.

Participants will receive instruction in all facets of the game from head coach Lyndsey Talbot and assistant coach Haley Kinnison. Current members of the SFCC softball team will provide assistance.

“We will cover the fundamentals of hitting and fielding,” said Talbot. “Coach Kinnison will focus on pitching skills and someone will work with catchers. We will break into groups to work on infield and outfield defense, and we will make sure that every camper has a lot of fun."

Download a registration form or register online with a credit card at sfccmoroadrunners.com/information/camps; online registration includes a $3.75 convenience fee. Forms should be completed and returned to Lyndsey Talbot, State Fair Community College, 3201 W. 16th Street, Sedalia, Mo., 65301. Checks should be payable to SFCC Softball Camp.

“We look forward to hosting our first camp, meeting the campers and having a fun time as we get to know each other and work on the fundamentals of softball,” said Talbot.
