State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce will host a Commercial Driving Academy (CDA) open house from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec. 15 in Fielding Technical Center, Rooms 245 and 253.

Light refreshments will be served.

The open house will feature the new VS600M Truck Simulator that creates a realistic truck driving environment. It consists of a fully functional pneumatic driver seat, typical controls, integrated flashers, and trailer hand brake. A range of truck models and transmission configurations with different payloads can be simulated to produce a credible experience that includes gravity during hill driving and various weather and road conditions. There will be demonstrations, and attendees will have the chance to “test-drive” the simulator.

The CDA Director Brent Hampy and Instructors Gene Warsawski and Forrest Bryden will be present. They will talk about the CDL online and behind-the-wheel training platform and answer questions about the Class A CDL program and the Class B and school bus, passenger and hazmat endorsement training the CDA offers.
