State Fair Community College is offering a 'Conceal and Carry Weapons – Hand Gun Fundamentals' class as part of the November LearningForce.

The class is described as a comprehensive training, practice, and application course.

Participants will meet at Black Dawn Industries LLC on November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. to learn about the design, construction, and uses of a handgun.

SFCC says the topics include safety, operations, mental preparation, firearm laws, loading and unloading, and storage. The class includes live-fire personalized practice to assist in developing and improving skills and abilities.

After participants successfully complete the course, they will have met the classroom requirement for a CCW application. Missouri residents must be at least 19 years old to apply for a concealed weapon endorsement. SFCC says students must provide their own handgun (revolver or semi-auto), 100 rounds of ammunition, and eye & hearing protection.

The press release from SFCC noted that handguns will be available for rent and ammunition will be available for purchase. The class size is limited to 18 students.

The cost to attend the class is $99.00. Instructors and facilities are provided by Black Dawn Industries, located at 1511 N. Ohio Ave.
