SFCC to Present ‘Wanda’s Monster’
State Fair Community College’s Theatre Arts program will present the children’s musical “Wanda’s Monster” Nov. 12-16 for thousands of area elementary students and at 2 p.m. Nov. 17 for the public in the Stauffacher Theatre on the Sedalia campus.
Everyone tells Wanda there are no such things as monsters except for her granny, whose unusual perspective guides Wanda to think about monsters in a new and delightful way. Based on the award-winning children’s book by Eileen Spinelli, “Wanda’s Monster” features music and lyrics by singer, songwriter and superstar children’s recording artist Laurie Berkner.
The show is rated G. All tickets are $6. To order, go to www.sfccmo.edu/the-arts, call the Stauffacher Box Office at (660) 530-5814 from noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, or email tickets@sfccmo.edu. Wheelchair seating is available upon request.
SFCC’s children’s musical theatre is presented to nearly 5,000 elementary students annually. The children’s theatre is sponsored in part by Barbara Lamy Cooney and Jim Cooney, Randy and Marsha Eaton, Brick Front Grill, and Papa Jake’s Donut Shop.
