State Fair Community College’s sophomore guard/forward Caleb Coleman of Hammond, Indiana, will wear a Prairie View A&M University’s Panther jersey when fall semester starts.

PVAMU is a Division I school in Texas.

During his sophomore year, Coleman helped the Roadrunners to a 12-16 record, playing in 27 games and starting in 26. He ended his career at SFCC with solid stats: ninth place in school history with 15.4 points per contest; second on the team in rebounds averaging 6.7; second in blocked shots with 1.1; third in steals with 1.1, and third in field-goal percentage at 52.3.

Coleman scored a career-high 32 points against North Arkansas College and was named to the All-Region 16 First-Team. He also earned Missouri Community College Athletic Conference All-Conference First -Team honors.

“Caleb will be a good wing for Prairie View A&M,” said Basketball Head Coach Matt Brown. “Caleb is a guy who put up some good numbers for us. He can rebound the basketball and provide instant offense for them.”

As a freshman, Coleman played in 28 games, starting in nine. He helped SFCC to a 19-10 record, averaging 9.8 points per game, mostly in a reserve role. He pulled down five rebounds per game, which placed him third on the team.

“Caleb has been working toward playing at the Division I level for a long time,” said Brown. “I am pleased that his hard work has paid off.”
