State Fair Community College’s The LearningForce and Pettis County Industrial Safety Council will offer a free seminar that addresses common workplace hazards, safety standards and corrective actions.

SFCC says participants can choose from four sessions, with courses beginning at 7:00 a.m. or noon, November 6 or 7. The course will take place at SFCC’s Energy Innovation Center, located at 24450 Oak Grove Lane, in Sedalia.

The seminar is described as hands-on and can be beneficial for supervisors, team leaders, safety support units, maintenance workers and management teams.

Participants have the opportunity to learn how to identify workstation hazards, construction versus general industry regulations, abatement strategies, best practices and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and penalties. Safety professionals will be available to answer questions before and after the seminars.

There is no cost, but advance registration is required as class size is limited. SFCC recommends registering early.
