The Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins snatched the lead late in the game in a 7-6 victory over Smith-Cotton Junior Varsity Tigers on Tuesday.

The game was tied at six with Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins batting in the bottom of the seventh when Carter Rice drew a walk, scoring one run.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins collected seven hits and Smith-Cotton Junior Varsity Tigers had eight.

Smith-Cotton Junior Varsity Tigers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Jakobe Linn singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins tied things up at two when an error scored one run for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins.

Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins tallied three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Tanner Damlo and Rice and a sacrifice fly by Gavin Caldwell.

George Bain took the win for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins. The right-hander surrendered zero runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking one. Connor Rice threw two and a third innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Jackson Bates was on the pitcher's mound for Smith-Cotton Junior Varsity Tigers. The righthander lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and two runs while striking out three. C Homan and Linn entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one and one-third innings respectively.

Caldwell started the game for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins. The pitcher went three innings, allowing three runs on five hits and striking out four.

Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins totaled seven hits in the game. Damlo and Rice each racked up multiple hits for Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins. Damlo went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Sacred Heart Varsity Gremlins in hits.

Linn led Smith-Cotton Junior Varsity Tigers with three hits in four at bats.
