Shirley "Billie" Williams, 85, of rural Lincoln, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Golden Valley Medical Center, Clinton.  She was born on July 25, 1928, at Cane Hill, Arkansas, a daughter of Arvin and Desta (Houseworth) Glidewell.

She was raised in the Baptist faith in Cane Hill, Arkansas, and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1944.  After graduation, she moved to Windsor, Missouri, and worked at the shoe factory.  A year later, she moved to Kansas City to work for Montgomery Wards.

On May 6, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to J. C. Williams.  She became an order filler at Sears.  In 1968, she and J. C. moved to Park Forest, Illinois, where she attended Doree's Beauty School and owned and operated her own shop.

In 1984, Billie retired and her and J. C. moved to Lincoln.  She was a member of the Ladies VFW Auxiliary in Sedalia and she loved to dance and quilt.

Besides her husband, she is survived by:
one daughter, Gail LeMaire of Sedalia;
two sons, Dale Howard and his wife Cathy of Lee's Summit and Coy Williams and his wife Barbara of Cole Camp;
nine grandchildren, Katy, Linda, JeriLynn, Richard, Coy, Jason, Benjamin, Stephanie, and Timmy;
fifteen great-grandchildren, Tanner, Riley, Phoebe, Randy, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Lindsey, Tandis, Alice, Raven, Krislyn, Jessie, Sky, Sophia, and Adrian; and
one great-great-granddaughter, Emily.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arvin and Desta Glidewell, three sisters, Imogene Smith, Mary Johnson, and Sherell Glidewell, and three brothers, Chancey Glidewell, Ellis Paul Glidewell, and Dennis Glidewell.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Laurel Oaks Cemetery, Windsor.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
