A 38-year Slater woman was injured after she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel while traveling in Saline County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the accident just after 1:00 Friday morning, on Highway 65, just north of Golden Road in Saline County.

According to the online crash report, the driver of a 2004 Jeep was traveling south on 65, when she fell asleep. The Jeep traveled off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

The driver, 38-year old Melissa M. Grigsby, of Slater, suffered minor injuries in the wreck. She was taken to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall, by EMS, for treatment.

The online report indicates the Jeep was totaled in the accident.
