
Smith-Cotton Soccer Beats Republic
Smith-Cotton boys soccer defeated Republic, 1-0, on the road Thursday.
Halftime score was 0-0. Landon Naylor scored in the 54th minute assisted by Viktor Tsymbal. Colby Edgar was in net for the shutout.
The Tigers record is 2-0-1.
The S-C JV tied Republic 1-1. Lenny Deleon scored the goal on a penalty kick. Record 0-0-1.
S-C plays St. Michael the Archangel Tuesday night.

Also, Smith-Cotton volleyball traveled to Odessa on Thursday and picked up a 25-18, 17-25, 25-18 win.
Haley Wiskur had eight kills, eight digs and five aces for the Lady Tigers (1-0). Jorey Luebbert added 11 kills, four blocks and two aces, as well as 15 digs. Megan Toops had 24 assists and 11 digs.
“The girls played well and had a lot of energy,” said head coach Diane Shipley. “The whole team pitched in for the win.”
S-C’s C and JV teams both lost.
Smith-Cotton plays Rock Bridge Sept. 13.
