It's summer vacation season, and if you're looking for a fun place to visit, a new list is out that ranks 100 of the nation's best cities for recreation. Two Missouri cities, St. Louis and Kansas City, both made the list, one of them in the Top 10!

According to WalletHub, St. Louis ranks 6th overall on the list of 2016’s Best & Worst Cities for Recreation. Kansas City didn't do too bad, coming in at 33rd.

WalletHub said that they, "compared the 100 largest U.S. cities across 35 key metrics that speak to the relative benefits of public spaces and recreational activities across the country. For each city, we examined basic living costs, the quality of parks, the accessibility of entertainment and recreational facilities as well as the climate."

I was surprised to see that St. Louis came in tied for first with Las Vegas in the category of "most music venues per capita," one of the factors considered in the overall rankings. Movie costs, bowling costs, the price of food and the percentage of parkland for each city were also evaluated.

The Top 10 cities on the list were:

  1. Orlando, FL
  2. Tampa, FL
  3. Scottsdale, AZ
  4. Cincinnati, OH
  5. Las Vegas, NV
  6. St. Louis, MO
  7. Atlanta, GA
  8. Boise, ID
  9. Minneapolis, MN
  10. Honolulu, HI
