Standoff Ends In Springfield With Three People Dead

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Springfield police say they found a man and his two children dead when officers made entry into an apartment to end a nearly 24-hour standoff. Authorities say the man appears to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. His 2- and 4-year-old children were also found dead inside. The standoff began at the apartment on Sunday night.
