State Fair Community College (SFCC) Athletic Director Darren Pannier announced today that they have been voted into the Midwest Community College Athletic Conference (MCCAC).  "This is a dream come true for all of us in the Athletics Department," Pannier said.  "Gaining admission into the conference has been a nine-year process. We are thrilled to be a part of the MCCAC. It will be good for our athletes and for everyone who supports SFCC."

The women's teams in the conference include Mineral Area College, Three Rivers Community College, Jefferson College, St. Louis Community College and State Fair Community College.

The men's teams in the conference include the same teams except for Jefferson College.

State Fair Community College has put a lot of pride in competing in Region 16, which will still be important since it determines who moves on to the National Junior College Athletic Association national tournament. The Roadrunners can now compete for a conference championship, and players and teams can get further acknowledgement from awards given from the MCCAC.

Both head coaches of the basketball program are excited for this addition too.  "I want to thank Darren Pannier for continuing to work on getting us into this conference," Lady Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Bucher said. Roadrunners Head Coach Kevin Thomas added, "I think it's great for our program. It gives our student athletes another goal and gives them an opportunity to earn academic as well as athletic honors."
