Stover Man Dies in Fiery Benton County Crash

A Stover man was killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Sunday night in Benton County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrols reports that an eastbound 2015 Ford Fusion, driven by 39-year-old James N. Scheil of Stover, was on Missouri 52, east of Brockman Avenue (east of Cole Camp), at 9:10 p.m., when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, traveled down an embankment and struck a tree. The vehicle then caught fire and was engulfed in flames when first responders arrived on scene.

The body was transported to the Benton County Coroner's Office.

Benton County Deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
