Sedalia hosted many bikers on Saturday (June 15) for a special salute to the Patriot Guard Riders. State Representative and Chairman of the Missouri House Veterans Committee Charlie Davis organized the Patriot Guard Summer Rally to show appreciation for the riders who honor military families at funerals, participate in parades and support the military.
There are a lot of proposals that come and go in Jefferson City, and one that is gaining attention is one proposed by Missouri State Representative Delus Johnson, a Republican from St. Joseph. Johnson is proposing that Missouri should suspend the requirement of wearing a motorcycle helmet for bikers during the month of August.
Get ready for a big increase in motorcycle riders in town this week. The BMW Motorcycle Owners of America are holding their 40th International Rally this weekend, July 19 – 22, at the Missouri State Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds will be hosting an estimated 8500 bikers this weekend, so drive carefully and prepare to see A LOT of bikes around Sedalia throughout the weekend.
