Four State Fair Community College Roadrunners have earned All-Conference recognition for the 2012-1013 basketball season in voting by Midwest Community College Athletic Conference coaches.
If you are a SFCC fan, you know that Coach Kevin Thomas and his wife Taylor have been expecting twins. Taylor was due in the middle of March, but the babies had different ideas and were born this Monday morning (Feb 4.) in Columbia, where Taylor had been on bed rest for awhile.
State Fair Community College's outstanding point guard Kenny Cherry announced on Tuesday (Dec. 18) that he has verbally committed to Baylor University. Kenny has been recruited by a number of schools since the beginning of the year, despite getting hurt in the second game of the season.
State Fair Community College Sophmore Ayo Ojo signed a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday to attend Idaho University. Ayo a 6'8" power forward will continue his education and his basketball career there.
The State Fair Men are on the road for the first time this weekend as the travel to the Oliney Central Classic. The Roadrunners are undefeated so far at 2-0 and averaging 110 points per game.
The 2012-2013 basketball season got under way this past weekend at State Fair Community College during the McDonald's Classic.The Lady Roadrunners played two tough teams to start the season off. They defeated Vincennes Community College 74-50 and beat Kaskaskia 63-57 on Saturday night. The ladies return back at home Wednesday night at 6 p.m. against Lincoln Trails.
