Skyline Elementary

Skyline Elementary School has named its Character Kids for September. This week, my son received a letter addressed to parents of Skyline Elementary students stating that the Skyline Parent Teacher Association (PTA) wanted to make some changes to class parties this year. The PTA wants to conform to the new Health Wellness Program that the Sedalia School District adopted last year and have asked parents to not provide any foods like cupcakes, cookies, candy or treat

The Scholastic Book Fair is being held at Skyline Elementary this week, and each time they host this event, they have a themed day for the public to come out and learn having fun as a family.

The end of the year brings the mad dash for my fellow employees to try and take some time off for the holidays, so I am off for three days this week. Nothing like taking time off to do last minute shopping for the holidays!  However, I also volunteered to help out the Skyline Elementary 3rd Grade for a day putting together gingerbread houses.

Skyline Elementary held their first Scholastic Book Fair of the year Thursday night (Nov. 1).  This book fair also had special meaning since it was the first one at Skyline Elementary since the passing of Lynn Phillips, a Skyline Librarian and cancer victim who passed away in May.
