The Sedalia Bombers had a whirlwind season, as several times they were in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th place in the MINK League South.  At times it looked like they could have called it quits, but they charged back with a homestand at the end of the season that lasted over a week, and were able to win the MINK League South by a half a game over the Ozark Generals.

The Sedalia Bombers had the tall order of taking on the St. Joseph Mustangs and won the first game on Friday, July 20, by a score of  10-6.  All they had to do was win one of the next two games and they would be the MINK League Champions, but St. Joseph had other plans and won Saturday  14-0.  The Mustangs also won 7-6 in extra innings on Sunday, giving St. Joseph the championship.

Both teams would have the chance to play in the NBC World Series. However the Sedalia Bombers officially announced that they would not attend the NBC World Series in Wichita, KS.  A team statement on the Bombers website cited injuries and that with the Fall baseball season coming soon, it would be good if these players could rest up and get ready for their collegiate baseball season.

The Bombers did get some good news in that pitcher Ethan Opsahl was named the MINK pitcher of the week for July 9-15.

The Bombers thank their sponsors, fans, and all those who contributed to the 2012 Sedalia Bombers season.
