Two Drivers Seriously Injured in Johnson Co. Wreck

Two drivers suffered serious injuries Friday morning in a Johnson County vehicle collision.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck just after 11:00, on Business MO-13 north of Route DD.

According to the online crash report, a 2004 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was speeding when it began to slide sideways, traveling off the left side of the road and striking the front of a 2010 Mercury Milan.

The driver of the Chevy, 26-year old Anthony J. Wilkes, of Kansas City, and the driver of the Mercury, 41-year old Melissa E. Cole, of Holden, suffered serious injuries.

Wilkes and Cole were taken to area hospitals by JCAD for treatment.
