Two Injured, Driver Arrested Following Pettis County Accident

A one-vehicle accident resulted in minor injuries for two Sedalia residents just before 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says a 2013 Ford driven by 37-year-old Matthew C. Maggard, of Sedalia, drove off the right side of the roadway on Route Y just west of Allen Road, struck a fence and came to rest in a field.

Maggard and a passenger, 32-year-old Stephan S. Nelson, received minor injuries in the accident. Nelson was taken to Bothewell Regional Health Center for treatment.

Maggard was arrested and taken to the Pettis County Jail for driving while intoxicated.
