Two Odessa residents were injured in a 2-vehicle wreck Thursday afternoon in Lafayette County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported the wreck around 4:30, on MO-131 at Mount Tabor Road.

According to the online crash report, a Chevy Sonic was attempting to make a left turn but failed to yield to oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with a Jeep Wrangler. Both vehicles eventually came to rest on an embankment.

The driver of the Jeep, 57-year old Cheryl K. Mullins, and the driver of the Chevy, 74-year old Bertha M. Russell, both of Odessa, suffered minor injuries in the wreck.

Mullins and Russell were taken to Centerpoint Medical Center for treatment.
