Ukrainian Aid Concert Held at First UMC

Lead Pastor Candace Fowler of First United Methodist Church (left), accepts a Bread of Hospitality from Deanna Shcherbina, a member of the Word of Life Evangelical Church, after last Sunday’s Ukraine Aid concert at FUMC. 

The total donations received at the event will be announced after all donors have turned in their contributions, according to Pastor Vladimir Dub of the Word of Life Church. He announced that the youth of his congregation will have a Ukraine  Aid car wash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 23, Saturday on the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken, 1513 South Limit.

For shipping to needy people in Ukraine, the church is still accepting donations of new bed sheets and towels, first aid supplies and medicines, and food items with expiration date past April 2023, he said.
