March 12 marks National Girl Scouts Day. It's actually the birthday of the Girl Scouts, which was founded on March 12, 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah, Georgia. If you go to Savannah, one of the popular tourist attractions is Juliette Gordon Low's home. It is supposedly haunted, but don't let that keep you away. About every other house in Savannah is said to be haunted!

Even if you were not a Girl Scout, or didn't have any Girl Scouts in your family, you're probably at least familiar with their cookies. Girl Scouts have been selling cookies for over 100 years. A national recipe was distributed to Girl Scout troops across the country in 1922, and you can actually get that recipe (and maybe even try it out at home) online from the Girl Scouts.

This year, Girl Scouts are selling a dozen different types of cookies. They also have a couple of gluten-free cookies. Do you have a favorite type of Girl Scout cookie? Do you buy the same ones every year, or do you mix it up?
