Warrensburg Chief Of Police Get New Job
Congratulations are in order for the Warrensburg Chief of Police. He has been hired for the same position in Lawrence Kansas.
Rich Lockhart has been the Warrensburg police since 2016. Before that, he spent 26 years of service protecting the citizens of Kansas City. Chief Lockhart held the rank of major with the KCPD at the time of his retirement, having worked in various assignments within the department, including human resources, patrol, special operations, and research and development. He was also the spokesman for the KCPD for 8 years.
This feels like a homecoming for Lockhart as he holds a Master's Degree from the University of Kansas in Public Administration. Rich will be taking this position of Lawrence Chief of Police in January of 2022.
Lawrence City Manager Craig Owens announced the hiring after a nationwide search. “We are extremely pleased to welcome Rich to the City of Lawrence.” "Rich brings a wealth of experience from his previous positions, and we are excited to have him join our team and help us make Lawrence a community where all people feel safe and secure.”
