Warrensburg Man Injured After Swerving to Avoid a Dog

A Warrensburg man was injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred in Johnson County on Sunday.

According to the MSHP, 30-year-old Christopher L. Doak was the driver of an eastbound 2017 Volkswagen Passat on Division Road, one-half mile west of County Road NW 151, when at 3:05 p.m., the driver swerved to miss a dog, which caused the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway, overturn and strike a fence.

Doak suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Western Missouri Medical Center by private vehicle, according to the report. Doak was not wearing a safety device.

The Passat was totaled and towed from the scene.
