
Warrensburg Shooting Leaves One Dead, Two Injured
Warrensburg Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Saturday morning that left one woman dead and two others injured.
According to a Facebook post, Warrensburg officers were called to the 400 block of Grover to investigate a shooting.
When officers arrived, they discovered three shooting victims. An 18-year-old female from Warrensburg was dead at the scene from an apparent gunshot wound. She was found in an alley behind the house. She was identified as Maliyah S. Lakey.
A 20-year-old male and a 17-year-old female were also shot and transported to an area hospital. Their injuries appeared to be non-life threatening at the time.
Officers from Warrensburg, the Johnson County Sheriff's office and the University of Central Missouri Department of Public Safety were on-scene investigating and gathering suspect information.
Initial reports are that a large party was taking place at a house in the 400 block of Grover when a fight broke out. A male subject pulled out a gun and started shooting, striking the three victims.
