WIC to Remain Open During Federal Government Shutdown
The Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children, known as WIC, will remain in operation in Missouri in the event of a government shutdown, it was announced Friday afternoon by JoAnn Martin, Pettis County Health Center administrator.
The Pettis County Health Center WIC program has been notified that there is sufficient funding to continue Missouri WIC operations in the event of a federal government shutdown.
The Pettis County Health Center WIC program will continue to hold appointments with participants, and authorized WIC retailers are still able to accept WIC checks until further notice.
A reminder that WIC and the Pettis County Health Center, 911 East 16th, will be closed Dec. 24-26 and will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 27.
