5 Board Games That Will Tear Your Friends and Family Apart

I love board games. They're a great way to bring the family together. It's also a great way to tear your family apart. Here is my list of the top five board games that tend to end badly.

1. Monopoly. Possibly the world's best known board game, and also the most frustrating. Monopoly is a slow burn. After hours of seeing your opponents avoid your properties while you have to pony up cash them over and over, swelling their bank accounts while yours dwindles away... I think more often than not a game of Monopoly ends in a flipped board or storming off then the game actually finishing.

2. Hungry Hungry Hippos. This is Kaleb's submission. Although I'm not sure if it's technically a board game in the classical sense, it's close enough. It can cause a lot of tension between friends, as Kaleb explains that people cheat by pressing down too hard and tilting the surface towards them, causing all the balls to roll towards their side. Disgraceful.

3. Pictionary. This is my pick. A game that's basically charades, but drawing instead of acting it out, you can become extremely frustrated with your own partner. I've seen the worst hints ever and people's inability to grasp the concept of a simple drawing lead to some pretty heated arguments.

4. Scattergories. I was recently involved in a HUGE fight over a game of Scattergories. The problem is there's a lot left to interpretation and you get in fights over things like if Jenna Jameson counts as an artist or not.

5. Sorry. No one is ever sorry. The whole point of this game is screwing people over. Nothing is worse then the smugness of someone saying the word. Even the playing piece on the box looks like a jerk.

BONUS: Uno. We weren't sure if this counted as a board game or not, but we needed to include it. If you say you've never been bitter about a game of Uno, you're lying. In my family, I don't think it's so important that you win as much as it is that everyone else LOSES.
