The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a two-vehicle injury accident in Johnson County, Monday evening that sent two Centerview residents to the hospital.

The accident occurred around 5:40, on Highway 50, just east of NW 361 Road.

According to the crash report, a 1993 Oldsmobile slowed down for an unknown reason, when a 2015 Hyundai approached the rear, then moved to the left to avoid a collision with the Oldsmobile, but ended up striking the rear anyway. The Oldsmobile then slid off the right side of the road and overturned. The Hyundai came to rest in the left lane.

The driver of the Oldsmobile, 42-year old Kevin R. Kielbowick, suffered moderate injuries in the wreck. The passenger, 66-year old Linda Gross, suffered serious injuries.

Kielbowick and Gross, both of Centerview, MO, were taken to Research Hospital in Kansas City, for treatment.

According to the report, the Oldsmobile was totaled, while the Hyundai sustained extensive damage. The driver of the Hyundai, 32-year old Steven M. Owen, of Warrensburg, was not listed as injured.
