Man hits a house in failed attempt to avoid arrest Wednesday night

At 9:28 Wednesday night Sedalia Police attempted to stop a speeding vehicle in the area of 16th and Ingram Avenue. The vehicle fled the scene driving Southward, through a local neighborhood, and eventually struck a house. The vehicle then travelled East and managed to avoid stop strips thrown into his path. The police report states the suspect avoided capture at this point, but through an investigation the suspect was identified as 21-year-old William J. Garrison of Rural Sedalia. Sedalia Police and Pettis County Deputies located Garrison, and arrested him. At the time of the police report he was on 24-hour hold at the Pettis County Sheriff’s Department pending charges of property damage 1st degree, resisting arrest, careless driving, and exceeding the speed limit.

Theft complaint filed in the 1600 block of Heck Avenue Wednesday night

Around 8:40 Wednesday night Sedalia Police took a theft complaint from a male victim in the 1600 block of Heck Avenue. According to the complainant someone stole a Sanyo 55” Flat Screen TV from his residence. The victim told the officers he suspects his ex-roomate, whom he evicted from the apartment. The police report states neither the suspect or the TV had been located at the time of the police report.
