Child abuse case is under investigation in Sedalia

Just after mid-night Saturday morning the Sedalia Police Department received a complaint from a man, who reported, that when he picked up his daughter for his weekend visitation he discovered bruises on her leg. The man gave officers the name of the suspect in the case. There was no other information in the police report.

Sedalia woman arrested for driving while suspended Saturday morning

At 12:18 Saturday morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle at 6th and Kentucky for a check. Upon contact with the driver 31-year-old Sharm Rebbecca Paxton of Sedalia she was found to be suspended. She was taken to Pettis County Jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Property damage complaint filed Friday afternoon in the700 of West 4th

At 3:30 Friday afternoon Sedalia Police were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of West 4th on a property damage complaint. Upon arrival the complainant reported windows in the back of the residence had been broken out. The victim said when they entered the kitchen they also found damage to a cabinet. The damage estimate was placed at $500, and there were no suspects at news time.

Theft reported Friday afternoon in the 900 block of East 5th

Around 4:25 Friday afternoon Sedalia police took a theft complaint from a victim in the 900 block of East 5th. According to the victim thieves stole his JVC Stereo Surround Sound Unit, that was valued at over $400. The victim also gave officers information on a possible suspect in the case.

A hit and run accident is reported in the 700 block of East 24th Friday

At 6:41 Friday evening Sedalia Police responded to a hit and run accident, that occurred in the 700 block of East 24th. Upon arrival a witness told the officers they saw a van strike the victims vehicle, then drive away. Damage estimates on the victim’s was placed at around $500. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.
