Sedalia Police are investigating a sexual abuse involving a child

At 6:42 Saturday morning Sedalia Police responded to the Bothwell Regional Health Center Emergency Room o0n a reported sexual abuse case involving a child. Upon arrival the officers made contact with the mother of the child, and Emergency Room Staff. The police report says statements were taken from all the parties, and Emergency Room Staff called the Child Abuse Hotline. The case was being further investigated at the time of the police report.

Sedalia man arrested Friday for assault on law enforcement and his mother

At 10:44 Friday morning Sedalia Police responded to a disturbance call in the 800 block of east 6th. The police report states enroute the officers were informed a suspect hit an 8-month old child. When the officers arrived at the address the suspect, identified as 21-year-old William R. Staten II was yelling at people. The police report also states, that when officers approached him, Staten threw a bag of trash at them, then balled his fist to fight the officers. Staten then reportedly ran at his mother, and struck her in the back knocking her to the ground. He then attempted to run away from the officers, but was caught and arrested in a yard across the street. Staten was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where he was placed on 24-hour hold pending multiple charges assault charges.

Intoxicated suspects arrested Thursday night in the 1700 block of South Prospect

Just after 7:30pm Thursday night Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 1700 block of South Prospect on two subjects yelling at the caller. The police report states the suspects were intoxicated, and advised to be quiet. The suspects complied, and went inside their residence, but came back out and began yelling at the neighbor again. Arrested at the scene were 46-year-old Freddy L. Points, and 35-year-old Chastity Bond. Both suspects were taken to the Pettis County Jail pending bonds of $533.50 each.

60-year-old Sedalia woman arrested on a warrant Saturday

Around 12:30 Saturday afternoon Sedalia Police conducted a warrant check at a residence in the 300 block of East 7th. Upon contact with the suspect, 60-year-old Gloria J. Kinder of Sedalia the warrant for a probation violation out of Pettis County was confirmed. At the time of the police report Kinder was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $4500 bond.

Sedalia woman arrested Saturday afternoon on a warrant for failure to appear

At 1:18 Saturday afternoon Sedalia Police observed a suspect in the 400 block of East 7th with a failure to appear warrant out of Pettis County. 28-year-old Crystal F. Millard of Sedalia was arrested and transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $150 cash only bond.

Hit and run accident reported in Wood’s Parking Lot Saturday morning, and the license number on the blue pickup has been given to the Sedalia Police.

The Sedalia Housing Authority reports a large tempered glass window valued at $300 was broken out of a bus stop at Saline and Buckner Court. There were no suspects at news time.
