Rural Sedalia man arrested for failure to appear on a child molestation charge

According to a Sedalia police report at 11:27 Monday morning a male subject came to the police station on unrelated matter. The report states during an investigation the man identified as 27-year-old Kody Cooper of rural Sedalia was found to have a failure to appear warrant out of Benton County on a charge of 1st degree child molestation. At the time of the police report Cooper was in the Pettis County Jail pending a $40,000 bond.

Two-people arrested on drug related charges during a traffic stop Monday

At 11:15 Monday morning Sedalia Police stopped a vehicle near Broadway and Grand for expired license plates. During a search of the vehicle officers uncovered a syringe. Neither occupant of the vehicle would admit ownership of the syringe according to the police report. Both suspects identified as 28-year-old Samantha Renea Jacobs, and 26-year-old Jared Brian Monsees were arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail where they were placed on 24-hour hold pending state charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of synthetic narcotics.

Theft complaints filed with the Sedalia Police Department

Monday morning a victim in the 2000 block of west 14th reported his 1997 Maroon Ford F-150 with a black cattle guard, with license number 2AS307 was stolen. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Just before 8am Monday morning a victim in the 2400 block of west Main repor5ted someone stole $200 from her residence on July the 2nd. There was no information on a suspect in the police report.

A 7” LG Tablet was reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of east 24th  Monday night. There was no information on a possible suspect in the police report.
