Police investigating a report of a child being forced to engage in oral sex with an adult

At 1:15 Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police were investigating a report of a child being forced to engage in oral sex with an adult known to them. The police report states the incident occurred a few days ago. The suspect had not been contacted at the time of the police report.

Homeless woman in jail on drug charges following a theft complaint from Walmart

Around 5:40 Yesterday (Tuesday) evening Sedalia Police were dispatched to the Walmart Store on a theft complaint. Upon arrival loss prevention told the officers the suspect walked around the store putting items in a Walmart bag, and then attempted to leave without paying. During the arrest of the woman identified as 36-year-old Dawn Allison Johnson a homeless person the officers found drugs and drug paraphernalia in her purse. At the time of the police report Johnson was on 24-hour hold in the Pettis County Jail pending state charges.

Woman arrested for stealing at Walmart also admits to an earlier theft

At 6:42 Monday evening Sedalia Police were dispatched to Walmart on a theft complaint. Upon arrival the suspect, 25-year-old Laura Leeann Martin of Sedalia was arrested for concealing items, and attempting to leave the store without paying for $17.93 worth of merchandise. The police report states that Martin also admitted she stole $20.60 worth of merchandise from the store on the 19th of June. She was transported to the Pettis County Jail pending a $1067 bond.

Windsor woman arrested for stealing at Walmart Tuesday afternoon

Just before 5pm Tuesday afternoon Sedalia Police arrested 22-year-old Claudia D. Steinart of Windsor for stealing at the Walmart Store. She was transported to the Pettis County jail pending a $533.50 bond.

Vandals strike a Sedalia church damaging phones and other equipment

Around 4:45 Tuesday afternoon the Sedalia police took a property damage complaint from the secretary of the Calvary Episcopal Church at 713 South Ohio. According to the complainant someone tore the cover off of the phone box on the outside of the church, and damaged wires and equipment causing the church to lose power. There were no suspects at the time of the police report.

Woman’s door is damaged on Katy Circle in a reported burglary

At 1:14 this (Wednesday) morning Sedalia Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Katy Circle on a burglary complain. Upon arrival the victim told the officers someone had kicked in her door causing damage. There were no suspects in the case, and no information was available on any missing items.
