Alexander Michael Robert Carr, 18, of Sedalia, died Thursday, February 11, 2016, in Morgan County.

"Alex" was born March 30, 1997 in Farmington, Missouri. Alex joined the Tim and Amy Carr family, who survive of the home, on December 21, 2011, making Christmas that much more meaningful.

Alex was a gifted young man. He was smart, athletic, personable and had a great sense of humor. He would take good natured "ribbing" about his bright red hair from both family and friends. He accepted the title of "Ginger" with a sense of pride. He would acknowledge to people, "Yeah,  that was a good one."

Alex was loved. Alex was welcomed into a large and loving family. He blended very well into the community, his school, and his new family. Between participating in football, wrestling, baseball and JROTC; Alex nearly wore his parents out. Everyone loved Alex.

Alex cared, a lot. He cared about how he looked, how he smelled, how people felt, about babies and youngsters. He cared about friends, about his dog Jack and his kitty Lucy. Alex cared about family and he cared about school. He cared about everything. His snuggles with Jack and Lucy and his bright smile are what will be remembered the most about our Alex.

His parents will also remember him using the words, "mom" and "dad". He sometimes made them angry, but he also filled their hearts with love. His gift to them, allowing Tim and Amy to be his mom and dad.

Alex loved. He loved people. He loved his mom and dad and told them so quite frequently. He loved his Grandma Wiz and Mick. He loved all his family and often worried occasionally about offending his biological family or his adoptive family. Thing is, Alex loved both and wanted to make sure not to slight either.

Alex had a relationship with the Lord. He was Baptized, received Holy Communion and Confirmed at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on his 16th Birthday. He was an active member at Sacred Heart at the time of his death.

Alex was preceded in death by his sister, Amanda Wood; his grandfather Danny Wood; and his aunt, Karen Carr-Boggs.

Alex is also survived by his brother, James Wood of Boonville, MO; sisters Katie Wood of Farmington, MO and Emily Griffin, of Columbia, MO. Alex also leaves behind numerous cousins. Cousins Brittainy, Kelsey and Evan Kaiser were more like sisters and a brother for several years of Alex's life.
