Animal F.A.I.R. is having an adoption event on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Sedalia at the Tractor Supply Company.  Animal F.A.I.R. is a group of dedicated volunteers rescuing cats and dogs from abuse, abandonment, neglect, illness and more. I can hear you now, you're saying, "Wait, Behk.  What does that mean?"  Well, the FAIR stands for Foundation for Animals In Risk.  That basically means what you think it means: they help animals who don't have homes and who need homes.   Another thing I can hear you thinking is, "Who are these folks?"  Well I've got the answers!

They are a non-profit, no kill animal rescue based in Sedalia, Missouri. The rescues are placed in foster homes, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ensured physical and emotional health, good socialization, and then adopted into carefully screened homes. They also educate the community on responsible pet ownership and encourage spay/neuter to prevent pet overpopulation.  They're having another adoption event this weekend, where you can meet some of the animals yourself.

I got to talk with Celeste Filis (fun fact - she's our very own Kaleb's Mom!) about the group and also about the adoption event, with lots of ways you can help.

So make sure to attend the Animal F.A.I.R. adoption event at Tractor Supply on Saturday Feb. 15 from 10:00 a.m.  – 2:00 p.m. If you've already got pets, you can bring your animals for a valentine’s photo and meet their awesome animals that ready for homes of their own.

Here's a look at some of the other pets that are available for adoption:

Find out more by following them on Facebook or visit their blog.  You can help animal F.A.I.R. by contributing your time, talents, or money. They need foster homes for cats or dogs, and volunteers to help with data entry, website updates, equipment tracking, and driving animals to vet appointments. Volunteers who can help at our adoption events are also welcome.

To volunteer, please click here fill out the form, or send an email to and let 'em know how you would like to help.

Animal-ly yours,
