As we come down the homestretch of this college football season, there are lots of great games on tap in the next week. Many of the nation’s top players—including Heisman-winner Johnny Manziel—will be on display for the last time this year.
We will have separate previews of all the BCS games posted soon, but in the meantime, here are the highlights of all the other remaining college bowl games.

While all eyes in the college football world will be on Saturday night’s presentation of the Heisman Trophy, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o holds a big lead in postseason hardware after taking home three trophies—including two national player of the year awards—during last night's college football awards show. He has now won six major awards since the end of the regular season.
While many coaches are gearing up for bowl season, it's that time of year when many other underperforming college college coaches get their walking papers. This year, some big names--including the winningest coach in Cal history and a guy who won a national title less than two years ago--headline the list of coaches who have been fired.
In a move that shakes up two power conferences, University of Arkansas officials announced Tuesday evening that Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema had accepted the Razorbacks' head coaching position. Terms of the deal were not announced, but the contract is reportedly a six-year deal worth $3.2 million per year.
History could be in the making this weekend, with a defensive player and a freshman highlight among this year’s finalists for the Heisman Trophy. Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel, Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o and Kansas State quarterback Collin Klein were announced as candidates for football’s most prestigious trophy, which will be awarded Saturday night.
As expected, Notre Dame and Alabama will meet in the BCS National Championship Game to award another trophy to one of college football’s most successful programs. However, the complete bowl lineup was not without some surprises, including #15 Northern Illinois crashing the BCS party and 9-3 Louisiana Tech being left home for the holidays after their administration turned down an Independence Bowl invite.

Sadly, we’ve come to the end of another exciting regular season in college football. Unless you are Notre Dame or Alabama, you are left wondering what might have been. Yet, despite the sadness inherent in the end of the season, there was still a lot of excitement this week—and of course bowl season still ahead of us.
