On Friday, Aug. 4, Pettis County Eastern Commissioner Israel Baeza was appointed to the Rural Action Caucus of the National Association of Counties (NACo).
NACo President Mary Jo McGuire highlighted the appointment by stating “(Commissioner Baeza) was chosen because my goal is to build a talented and committed leadership team for NACo. As we move forward together, now is the time for county leaders to connect, inspire and lead.”

The purpose of the Rural Action Caucus is to connect and build bridges through enriched professional connections, inspire civic engagement through well-informed community participation and public trust, and lead intergovernmental partnerships through enhanced collaboration with our federal, state, local and tribal partners.

"It is an honor to represent the interest of our rural county on this national committee. Agriculture is the number one industry in Pettis County and the State of Missouri. It is vital that we communicate the real needs of our constituents to our federal partners and advocate for policies that benefit our agriculture communities.” Commissioner Baeza concluded.
