Walk into Moore's Greenhouse and Flower Shop this October and you'll get more than an eyeful of flowers.  You'll find yourself standing among a variety of hand-crafted, elaborately decorated underwear provided by members of the local community.  The bras aren't just for show; these glittered garments are entries in Moore's annual "Bra Contest" and help raise money for 2013 Relay for Life of Pettis County and will help fund cancer research.

Moore's will be collecting decorated bras through the end of October.  Community members are encouraged to visit the greenhouse and flower shop, located on Highway B about two blocks away from the Best Western, and vote for their favorite.  Votes are cast by putting a $1 donation into a jar representing that entry.  The funds collected from the votes will support relay for life.

Thirty bras have been entered in the contest so far.  Some of the creations were submitted by local businesses and area schools.  Many entries have been decorated in a school/librarian theme in memory of Lynn Phillips, a Sedalia School District teacher and librarian who lost her battle with cancer last May.  The bras include pages from children's books and school supplies.

Other entries include silly themes and decorations, all for a good cause.   You can see some of the entries in this year's contest by viewing the slideshow below.

Vote for your favorite bra by visiting Moore's Greenhouse and Flower Shop before October 31. Moore's will also be accepting donations from area businesses to help support Sedalia's 2013 Relay for Life event, scheduled for June 7 next year.
