The local Salvation Army are always doing things to help anyone in need.  We may associate them with the bell ringers in the fall and winter, but the folks over there raise money and help people all year long.  They've got a big dinner and benefit coming up on Friday, March 14.

The Sedalia Downtown area is one of those places I think everyone knows about, but doesn't keep it in mind every day. Liberty Center Presents ’9 to 5: The Musical’ [INTERVIEW]

I'm sure many of us remember the fun '80s comedy '9 to 5.'  It starred Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, Dolly Parton, and Dabney Coleman. Now there's a great musical adaptation, done by Ms. Parton herself, and the best part is that you can see it right here in Sedalia, presented by the fine folks at the Liberty Center.

Sedalia Kiwanis Raising Funds for Kids and Seniors with Card Party this Weekend [INTERVIEW]

The Sedalia Kiwanis will be having a Card Party on Saturday to play some Pitch and Hand and Foot.  The Kiwanis is home to some of the the largest youth service programs in the world. Their local clubs programs empower elementary school students, tweens and teens to make an impact through service and leadership.  They also help a lot with our local charities that get overlooked, and that's what this weekend's Card Party is all about.

Sedalia Gets Moving with Bothwell Regional Health Center’s Couch to 5K Challenge [INTERVIEW]

Community members looking for motivation to get or stay active this spring will want to sign up for Healthy U’s second annual Couch to 5K program with Bothwell Regional Health Center.

Healthy U, a community health and wellness initiative, will host a kick-off meeting at 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, at the Bothwell Education Center. Information about the program and training schedules will be distributed at the meeting. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is required. The deadline to register for the Couch to 5K is March 3.
