Sedalia School Board to Vote on Accepting Sedalia Parks and Rec’s Offer to Buy Jennie Jaynes Stadium Property

The pursuit to build a new high school activities stadium at Smith-Cotton High School continues today (Sept. 9). A few months ago, the Sedalia School Board voted to hire a construction manager to build a new athletic and activities center. The plans have been moving along ever since. Today, the Sedalia School Board will be voting on whether to accept and sign the contract that the Sedalia Parks and Rec Board voted on. They would pay $1 million to the Sedalia School Board for possession of the land.

Sedalia VFW Honors Veterans at Patriot Day Ceremony [PHOTOS]

The VFW Post 2591 held a Patriot Day Celebration at the Sedalia VFW last Sunday afternoon (Sept. 8). VFW Post Commander Larry Reven led the ceremony, recognizing veterans from the conflicts in Panama, Grenada, Kosovo, Bosnia, Desert Storm and the War on Terrorism.

Sedalia Welcomes Honor Flight Veterans Returning Home from Washington D.C. [PHOTOS]

It was a beautiful evening to welcome home the 12th Honor Flight in Sedalia, Mo. They were escorted by a group of about 75 local motorcycle riders from Marshall Junction to Sedalia on Tuesday night (Sept. 3).

Hughesville Fire Department Hosting Hog Roast This Weekend [INTERVIEW]

One thing that Sedalians truly love is good food.  A popular saying around these parts is that on every corner you'll see a church or a restaurant.  That's not just in Sedalia, but all over Missouri, and particularly in Mid-Missouri. Committees Formed to Help Save Camp Sacajawea in Sedalia

The committee to save Camp Sacajawea met last night (Aug. 28) for the first time since the Girl Scouts of Missouri Heartland Council presented what they needed to do to help save the camp. The council told local Girl Scout leaders on Aug. 13 that they would have to present a three-year plan to show how they intend to maintain the property, how they intend to find new money for fundraisers, how they intend to use and increase the use of the property and how they need to finance the property.

Boys and Girls Club Gets Ready for the School Year with New Programs [INTERVIEW]
