Kansas City Drive-In Movie Theater Could Be in Trouble; Here’s How You Can Help

It looks like quite a few drive-in theaters will be closing down in the next year. It's been announced that Hollywood films will no longer be made with 35 mm film and everything will be completely digital. It's not a big deal for regular movie theaters, but it'll be very tough for most drive-ins since the new digital projectors can cost around $80,000 or more. A lot of drive-ins are likely to go out of business rather than spend so much money.

Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Insidious Chapter 2′ Has a Terrifyingly Huge Opening

James Wan has done it again. For the second time this year, a horror film that he's directed has opened to over $40 million, securing his position as the reigning king of mainstream horror cinema. He may be taking a break from the genre to direct 'Fast and Furious 7,' but after the jaw-dropping success of 'The Conjuring' and now 'Insidious Chapter 2,' you just know he'll be back. Weekend Box Office Report: ‘Riddick’ Wins an Unimpressive Weekend

One of the things 'Riddick' has going for it is that it didn't cost too much. So while its opening weekend may be a little less than impressive, it doesn't have that far to go to make a profit. It's little victories like this that make this, one of the slowest most stagnant movie weekends of the year, more palatable.

‘RoboCop’ Trailer: “Dead or Alive, You’re Coming With Me”

A PG-13 'RoboCop' remake? That's what we're getting, and the first trailer plays up the familiar elements ("oh look, ED-209"), but also seems to put the focus on the role of free will in Alex Murphy (played by Joel Kinnaman), who becomes part man, part machine, and all cop.
