It's time for another installment of On the Road With Doug, only this time I didn't go very far. Fundraisers happen all the time for local churches. Some really step out of the box or fill a niche that when you mention it, you instantly think of that church. That certainly applies to the Immanuel United Church of Christ, at 418 West 4th Street, who had their 13th Annual German Dinner on Saturday (October 27).

Explosion in Warrensburg Destroys House, Three Firefighters Injured [PHOTOS]

A fire on Monday night (October 15) led to the injuries of three firefighters battling a blaze caused by a woman who fell asleep while smoking.  The building at 405 Jefferson St., which had been converted to apartments, burned until early Tuesday morning.  The blaze was fueled by the explosion of a tenant's oxygen tanks that were in the apartment where the blaze began.
