We've all seen those cooking shows. There are some laughs, the host "oohs" and "ahhs" and the viewers are left with some helpful and easy recipes.
Then, there's this hot mess. And we do mean "hot."
This is absolutely harrowing news: iconic actor and living legend Harrison Ford has been critically injured in a plane crash. The plane crash-landed in Venice, California today and Ford was subsequently rushed to the hospital where his condition is currently critical. Ford, who’s been reprising his role in the new series of Star Wars films and recently signed on for the long-gestating Blade Runner sequel, is 72 years old—making his enduring dedication to these franchises even more remarkable.
The success of FOX’s 24: Live Another Day event series got the ball rolling on a number of other ideas, from The X-Files to Enourmous, but their latest short-burn effort is even more expendable. Sylvester Stallone is reportedly developing a limited series TV rendition of The Expendables, uniting some of TV’s biggest stars for a new action-drama.
Should we be worried about Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon? The late night chatterbox has spent the last year of his life winning all sorts of wacky, mostly oversized games on his show, but lately, things have been going pretty downhill. In short, he’s lost, a lot, and no one seems more confused about it than Fallon himself.
The late night talk show scene is lousy with fake gags, including plenty of sketches that center on fake television shows. This is fine! It’s fun even! But it’s not often that a fake late night show is so good, so strange, and so funny that we wish it were real. If only Plizzanet Earth was real.
What do we want? A standalone HBO streaming service! When do we want it? Now! And that’s what makes the name of HBO’s highly anticipated and long-promised standalone service so appropriate. HBO Now is officially on its way, and the company has revealed new details, including a very reasonable subscription price. But those of you with cable who already pay for an HBO subscription may find that switching over would be a tad useless.
