Charla Anne Roscoe, 77, of Gladstone, died Monday, September 7, 2015, at her home.  She was born on September 10, 1937, at Youngstown, Ohio, a daughter of Charles Robert and Ruth (Bay) Kersey.

She grew up Cole Camp, was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and graduated from Benton County R-1 High School in 1956. She graduated from University of Central Missouri at Warrensburg with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree, where she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi.  After graduation, she taught kindergarten and first grade in Cole Camp, Sedalia, Carrollton, and the Kansas City area for many years.

Charla was a longtime resident of Gladstone.  She loved teaching and reading books to children and was able to touch many lives during her teaching career.  She loved her family and spending time with them.  She remained active with former members of her sorority and loved being with people.

She is survived by:
her daughter, Christyne Zimmerman of Columbia;
her son, Robert Keough of Kansas City;
four grandchildren, Ray Cooper, Spencer Cooper, Kaitlyn Keough, and Connor Keough; and
three great-grandchildren, Dillon Cooper, Jameson Cooper, and Maverick Cooper.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ruth Kersey.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 12, 2015, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Sedalia, with  Pastor Jason Veale officiating.

The family will receive friends beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015, at White Chapel Funeral Home, 6600 NE Antioch Road, Kansas City, with a prayer service to be held at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Sanders and Pastor Jason Veale officiating.

The family suggests memorial contributions be given to the American Cancer Society or the First United Methodist Church in care of the Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.

Pallbearers will be Robert Keough, Ray Cooper, Spencer Cooper, Connor Keough, Monty Betterton and Kyle Betterton.
