A one-car crash in Benton County seriously injured a Clinton man on Wednesday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 18-year-old Jonathon E. Webster of Warsaw was the driver of a southbound 1999 Chevy on Missouri 83, just south of Lone Star Road at 7:45 a.m. when the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway, the driver then overcorrected and the vehicle then returned to the roadway, but rotated counter-clockwise, traveled off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

The passenger, 27-year-old Bret M. Young, was partially ejected from the vehicle. He came to rest under the Chevy, according to the report. Young was flown to University Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a safety device, the report said. Webster was wearing one, it was noted.

The Chevy had moderate damage and was towed from the scene. Benton County Sheriff's deputies assisted the Patrol at the scene.
