Delores Jean Brown, 83, of Sedalia passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at her home. She was born on June 19, 1932 in Ralston, Nebraska, the daughter of Lee and Hazel (Hooker) Workman, who preceded her in death.

On February 8, 1951 she was united in marriage to James V. Brown, who preceded her in death on November 8, 2011.

Delores loved her family above all else. She also enjoyed going to the casinos, playing bingo, petting her two dogs, and going to church.

Delores is survived by seven children, Kathy Smith (Tom) of Atlanta, GA, Steven Brown (Joy) of Cordova, AL, Robert Brown of Sedalia, MO, Kris Lucas (Dan) of South Bend, IN, Kenny Brown of Sedalia, MO, Debbie Keith (Ernie) of Sedalia, MO, and Kimberly Stoddard (Steve) of Sedalia, MO.

Grandma Delores dearly loved her eighteen grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and two great-great grandbabies.

Besides her husband and parents, Delores was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 18, 2015, at La Monte United Methodist Church, La Monte, MO, with Rev. Debbie Arvelo officiating.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Rea Funeral Chapel, Sedalia, MO.

Burial will be at La Monte Cemetery, La Monte, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice in care of Rea Funeral Chapel.
