Durwood Raymond “Bud” Wasson, of LaMonte, died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014.  He was 102 years old.

He was born at LaMonte, August 24, 1912.  The son of Durwood Francis and Hazel Metts Wasson.

He was a lifelong resident and farmer in Pettis County.  He was a graduate of Smith Cotton High School Class 1931
Raymond married Maybelle Close of Green Ridge, December 20, 1939, who preceded him in death on March 19, 2009
Raymond owned Wasson Insurance Agency and was a real estate agent for Westside Real Estate in Sedalia for 30 years.  He was a member of LaMonte Christian Church and served as a deacon and an elder for over 50 years.

He is survived by one son, Dale C. Wasson, of Sedalia; one daughter, Sheryl Riecke Veit and her husband Robert, of New Bloomfield; a granddaughter Shelley Riecke Wilson, and her husband Mike of Columbia; and two grandsons Travis N. Riecke, and his wife Dee of Fulton; and Bradley D. Wasson of LaMonte; 7  great-grand children; Anthony Riecke and his wife Bethny of New Bloomfield; Ashten Riecke of Columbia; Dustin, Hunter, Joshua, Lauren, and Lucas Riecke of Fulton;  5 step great-grand children and 4 step great great-grand children; 2 nieces, a nephew; and many close family friends.

He was preceded in death by his sister Louise Choplin.

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 16, at Heckart Funeral Home, with the Rev. Gene Smith and Rev. Alan Morse officiating.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time Sunday.   Burial will be at LaMonte Cemetery immediately following the services.
